INTRODUCTION
Your privacy is important to us. The Midwest High Speed Rail Association pledges to be responsible when gathering your personal information and to protect your privacy. Although this Privacy Policy is not a contract and does not create any legal rights, it does serve as an expression of the Midwest High Speed Rail Association’s commitment to protecting private personal information. The Midwest High Speed Rail Association reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and will notify users of any material changes by updating the policy here and by including a “NEWLY UPDATED” label with the “PRIVACY POLICY” link on the web sites governed by this policy for 30 days after any material changes are made.
PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CHOICE
“Personal information” is information about an individual that is readily identifiable to that specific individual. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, personal identifiers such as an individual’s name, address, phone number, driver’s license number and social security number. A domain name or Internet Protocol address is not considered personal information. We collect no personal information about you unless you voluntarily participate in an activity that asks for information (
e.g., sending an e-mail or participating in a survey).
POLICIES FOR INDIVIDUALS UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE
The Midwest High Speed Rail Association is committed to complying fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Accordingly, if you are under the age of 13, you are not authorized to provide us with personally identifying information, and we will not use any such information in our database or other data collection activities. We appreciate your cooperation with this federally mandated requirement.
WEB LOGS
The Midwest High Speed Rail Association analyzes our web site logs to continually improve the value of the materials available on our site. Our web site logs are not personally identifiable.
INFORMATION RETAINED AND HOW IT IS USED FOR ANONYMOUS USERS
As you browse through the Catch an Illinois Train site as an anonymous user and look at, print, and download information, no personally identifying information will be revealed or recorded about you. Our web server logs collect and store only the following general information about your visit:

This information is used to help us improve our online services by determining how often our Web site is visited and which areas of the site are visited most to gauge overall interest. These summary reports will be made available to third parties as evidence of the success of the site in generating interest for Amtrak service in Illinois.
CORRESPONDENCE
If while visiting the Catch an Illinois Train website you participate in a survey or send e-mail, the following additional information will be collected:

This cookie is necessary to keep track of your search criteria and which page of the search results you are viewing to enable navigation through the search results. No personal information of any sort is stored in the cookie and nothing is maintained on our web site about the cookie after you close the browser session.
